A living façade reimagining Mexico’s identity through biomaterials, vibrant colors, and kinetic movement.

The Terminal 2 project redefines the gateway to Mexico city by transforming a neutral façade into a celebration of cultural identity, energy, and innovation. This concept integrates Greenfluidics' solar biopanels into a vibrant pattern inspired by traditional Oaxacan looms, evoking movement, color, and rhythm through biotechnology.

Each triangular panel mimics the woven textures of indigenous textiles while harnessing sunlight to generate clean energy. By day, the façade breathes with life through flowing microalgae and shifting hues. By night, it transforms into a dynamic visual experience, glowing softly in shades of magenta, amber, and violet.

Built in collaboration with LuxiaLabs, the design honors Mexico’s architectural heritage by blending modern sustainability with pre-Columbian symbolism. Local volcanic stone on the rear wall adds depth and permanence, grounding the project in historical continuity.

A façade that welcomes the world with movement and meaning.

From the arrival hall of Terminal 2, travelers encounter a living surface that merges nature and culture in real time. The kinetic biopanel system creates a multisensory identity, one that reflects the soul of Mexico through color, light, and circular design. This concept goes beyond decoration; it’s a functional, emotional, and symbolic upgrade to the country’s most visible threshold.
